Performance characteristics of nitrile rubber

🕙 2023-10-10 👆

Nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) is a copolymer of acrylonitrile and butadiene monomer, which is mainly produced by low-temperature lotion polymerization. Nitrile rubber exhibits excellent oil resistance, wear resistance, and heat resistance, as well as good adhesion.

The molecular weight of nitrile rubber is about 700000, and due to its strong polar CN group, it has excellent stability for fatty hydrocarbon oils and gasoline. According to the different ACN contents, nitrile rubber can be divided into extremely high nitrile rubber, high nitrile rubber, medium high nitrile rubber, medium nitrile rubber, and low nitrile rubber. Nitrile rubber with different ACN contents varies in terms of oil resistance, airtightness, wear resistance, and processability.

Nitrile rubber is mainly used in the manufacturing of oil resistant rubber products, such as various oil resistant gaskets, gaskets, sleeves, flexible packaging, flexible hoses, printing and dyeing rubber rollers, cable adhesive materials, etc. It is widely used in industries such as automobiles, aviation, petroleum, and photocopying. In addition, nitrile rubber also has good water resistance, air tightness, and excellent bonding performance.

Nitrile Rubber (NBR) is formed by copolymerization of acrylonitrile and butadiene, with an acrylonitrile content of 18% -50%. The higher the acrylonitrile content, the better the resistance to petrochemical and hydrocarbon fuel oils, but the lower the low-temperature performance,

General operating temperature: -25-- -100 ℃

Usage: Nitrile rubber is currently one of the most commonly used rubbers for oil seals and O-rings.

Advantages: It has good oil resistance, water resistance, solvent resistance, and high pressure oil resistance characteristics. Good compression deflection, wear resistance, and elongation

Disadvantage: Not suitable for use in polar solvents, such as ketones, ozone, nitrohydrocarbons, poor low temperature resistance, ozone resistance

Commonly used in fuel tanks, lubricating oil tanks, as well as in petroleum hydraulic oils, gasoline, water, silicone grease, silicone oil, and grease based lubricants. Rubber parts, especially sealing parts, used in fluid media such as glycol based hydraulic oils. It can be said that it is currently the most widely used and cost-effective rubber seal.
