Neoprene Polychromopene (CR) performance characteristics

🕙 2023-10-09 👆

Chloroprene is the first synthetic rubber compound to be mass-produced. It has the characteristics of high initial adhesion and high bonding strength, and is widely used in industries such as home and public facilities decoration, woodwork industry, and shoemaking industry. Chloroprene adhesive was invented by DuPont scientist Elmer K. With the background of the DuPont laboratory in Burton, Professor Julius Arthur Nieuwland conducted acetylene chemistry research at Notre Dame University and produced ethylene glycol acetylene, which became firm and elastic, similar to rubber. When passed through, the jelly was made of sulfur dichloride. Later, DuPont purchased patent rights from universities, and Wallace Carothers took over the commercial development of Nieuwland's discovery and collaborated with Nieuwland. DuPont focuses on the field of monovinyl acetylene and studies reactants and hydrogen chloride gas to manufacture chloroprene. In 1937, the first synthetic rubber Neoprene was invented by DuPont. In 1957, Bayer introduced chloroprene rubber.

Neoprene Polychromopene (CR) is polymerized from chloroprene monomers.

Advantages: The vulcanized rubber has good elasticity and wear resistance, is not afraid of direct sunlight, has excellent atmospheric aging resistance, is not afraid of intense distortion, is not afraid of refrigerants such as dichlorodifluoromethane and ammonia, is resistant to dilution and silicone grease lubricants, has good elasticity and good compression deformation. The formula does not contain sulfur, making it very easy to make and has anti animal and vegetable oil properties. It does not affect physical properties due to neutral chemicals, fats, oils, various oils, solvents, and has flame retardant properties. The general usage temperature is -50~150.

Disadvantage: Not resistant to phosphate ester hydraulic oil. At low temperatures, it is prone to crystallization and hardening, with poor stability. In mineral oils with low aniline points, it has a large expansion capacity. It is not recommended to use chemical species such as strong acids, nitrohydrocarbons, lipids, chloroform, and ketones.

Commonly used in: R12 refrigerant resistant seals, rubber parts or seals on household appliances, suitable for making various types of direct contact with the atmosphere and sunlight. Ozone parts. Suitable for various flame resistant and chemical resistant rubber products.
