Introduction to Sealing Composition and Commonly Used Mixing Materials of Internal Mixers
An internal mixer is a relatively rotating rotor that shapes and mixes polymer materials in a closed environment.
The sealing of the internal mixer is completed through a sliding surface composed of side wall panels, wear-resistant plates, static rings, and dynamic rings that rotate with the rotor. The sealing effect is mainly achieved through six sets of springs, and the rotor sealing device is suitable for sealing when processing various rubber materials. Seal lubricating oil is injected into the annular channel at high pressure at two different locations.
The commonly used materials for internal mixer are:
(1) Polyamide rubber: It is a new type of rubber material widely used in various hydraulic cylinders, with excellent physical properties and chemical stability.
(2) Oil resistant rubber and cloth clip rubber: Nitrile rubber is used most, with good elasticity.
(3) Polyvinyl chloride (plastic): has a certain strength, oil resistance, low friction, but poor elasticity, and low working temperature
